Secret Wars: House of M
Bold are what I consider priority reading, with the others secondary.
Lorna is a character that’s suffered immensely from decades worth of misuse and underestimation. It was only in the late 90s and early 00s that writers started to actually explore who Lorna is and try to understand her. Before that, most stories reduced her to a plot device the writer could change on a whim to suit the stories of other characters.
I’m hoping Gifted forces Marvel to start doing more and better by Lorna than has historically been the case.

Polaris has been a major part of the X-Men’s world for decades. We’ve seen her as Havok’s partner, Magneto’s daughter (you can always flip a coin to see if this has been retconned again lately), and as both a supervillain and a superhero across multiple teams. Her powerful magnetic abilities make her an intimidating foe, and the character is even enjoying some smallscreen spotlight now on the TV show The Gifted.
In Marvel Comics, though, the character is being really underutilized. She has popped up in what amounts to cameo appearances in X-Men Blue, but the truth is that she should be working alongside the X-Men or even headlining her own book. She’s got a rich history with multiple mutants, has worked alongside heroes and villains, and is an ultra-powerful mutant…what’s not to love?
Thanks @lordtimeblogposts for the heads up!

Also from the artist, written when he made this back in 2012.
Been a minute since I have done one of these. Really enjoying taking the X-men characters and making them fashion models. This is Polaris. It was really hard for me to figure out a way to express her character and her mutant power. I am not really sure I know a lot about her except that she seams to be sole defined by her male relationships (Havoc, Magneto) which I hate. let me know if you disagree or agree. Each of her rings represents a relationship or and aspect of her personality.

Commissioned by @Sarlata to celebrate Lorna and Wanda getting to interact as sisters for the first time in 10 years, upcoming in All-New X-Factor #14.
Now that people are checking out the Polaris tags due to Gifted, gonna reblog this pic once again. soap’s still awesome.
