An all man team, can you imagine it?

What would that even look like?

I can’t imagine that Marvel would ever create a comic about a super hero team with no women.

It would just never happen.

The feminists would go insane.

It’s like they don’t even read comic books. The number of comic book casts with just one woman and eleventy billion dudes is astronomical, especially the further back you go. 

The sad typical “token woman” situation, or no women at all, is far too pervasive. It infected the gaming industry once gaming got popular enough for money-focused execs to jump on board and force their own biases into what they’d allow to be made.

Late 90s, we had more and more games with diversity, particularly for women. Then games got big business-wise and suddenly getting a game with a female leading protag is next to impossible and generally only gets to happen if there’s some form of sexism inserted into it. Sometimes blatant, sometimes sneakily included alongside fixing old sources of sexism.

so today i was on facebook when i saw one of my family members shared a link with a naked girl and her comment “lol” so naturally i thought something funny must have happened with some naked girl or something, but i could not have been more wrong. this post is disgusting and i can’t believe my family posted this. actually scratch that, i can believe it which is even worse. 

anyway, I don’t even think I need to show you guys the tons of other comments saying what a good idea this is and how funny it is. this post has about 100,000 shares at the moment. you guys should all report the guy who made this post.

Yeah, the original concept shown in the picture is stupid on every conceivable level. It’s got a blend Islamophobia fueled by what have to be bullshit assumptions about Islam (Commit suicide for seeing any woman other than his wife naked? Really? Makes as much sense as saying Christians murder their firstborns to prove they love God), sexism, and toxic bro culture. Some of it is absolutely a thinly veiled “Man, I know society says we can’t share pictures of naked women publicly under normal circumstances, so here’s a bullshit excuse to do so.”

We have so many of these demonstrations taking place all over the country. They’re not even weekly occurrences anymore, they’re daily. This is becoming the new normal.

How can anyone not recognize and acknowledge there is something deeply dysfunctional about the way our society is currently operating when we have such major demonstrations taking place daily? It’s not like people are doing this for kicks. Some may be, but most would surely much rather live in a world where things are functioning well enough for them to simply go to work, take classes, spend time with their kids if they have kids, enjoy some good hobbies like writing or drawing or maybe exercise, enjoy films or TV.

The fact so many feel this takes greater priority for the future of our society and their own lives than any of that alone is proof things are bad and need to improve.

I’m very happy to see this. As a guy, growing up, the message reinforced in society was always “You are supposed to not only take initiative, but act very stubborn to demonstrate you genuinely care and are committed.”

That message always bothered me because it implies relationships can’t be based on immediate interest, and it’s incredibly easy for such behavior to slip into stalker territory. There are especially some guys who see continued attempts as an increasing “investment” that they “can’t walk away from,” which just exacerbates the chances of it turning into harassment.

And when I say harassment, I mean unintentional AND intentional. Some guys can be clueless. Others can convince themselves of horrible thoughts like “She’s a stuck-up bitch for not wanting to go out with me, I should ruin her life.”
