Hello! This is one of the things I stumbled across recently and needed to post here. It took a fair amount of time to get all of this together, because not only are the images scattered, but I wanted to make sure they were the best quality I could find.

All of these pictures are from something called BurlXMen, a burlesque take on these X-Men, including some genderswap versions of male characters. They were taken at San Diego Comic Con 2016.

There are more pictures out there. Because I’m a Polaris fan, I only bothered with pictures including her, and I left out minor variants. If you’re a fan of one of these other characters, it’s worth your time to check around (including at the links for photographers given below) for more pictures of them.

Now for the credits. First, the cosplayers.

Jean Grey/Phoenix – Ivy Doomkitty
Emma Frost – Castle Corsetry
Magneto – Wendy Waagenaar
Mystique – Elisa Teague
Jubilee – Vivid Vivka
Rogue – Miss Chrissy Lynn
Gambit – Milynn Sarley
Polaris – Jessie Blaufus
Cyclops – Amanda Lynne
Wolverine – Krystle Starr

Next, the photographers.

Aaaand… I don’t know the photographer for the last one. I got it from Nerd Ninja on Twitter.

Got this sent to me by @kurt-banged-her! It’s the panel for Hasbro’s Marvel Legends line at SDCC. I set this video to start right at where they introduce the Polaris figure.

What I love about the video, apart from so many people cheering for it, is the host saying

“you can cross her off your want list so I never have to see her in the top ten again.” It’s one of many, many signs of how egregiously Marvel ignores Lorna and her value. It took so long for a figure of her to come out, and so many people want it, that she became notorious as a character people wanted to see but constantly never got.

It’s not going to happen, but Marvel should really be taking this as another strong indicator that she’s a character they need to do better for. Canceling her only book where she’s the leader after going out of the way to undermine it, or briefly giving her good representation in a Marvel-wide event and then abandoning her for over half a year and counting so far, doesn’t cut it.

The important part.

Polaris will pop up again according to Bunn.

Before I continue, I want to point out that ComicBookResources decided to leave this part out of their article. Naturally, they had no problem with mentioning Havok, though.

I should be glad that Bunn said this, but in all honesty, I don’t trust Marvel. They’ve repeatedly ignored, wasted or deliberately undermined Lorna’s potential, and they have a habit of arbitrarily changing plans. Bunn may have something in mind for her still, but until it’s actually in the solicits, on a cover, on comic book pages, it’s not the real deal. Someone at Marvel could call Bunn up tomorrow and tell him to replace Lorna with some other random character in whatever scripts he’s written.

Until there’s something concrete to back up the assurances, I’m going to assume that Marvel’s thrown Lorna into limbo and intends to keep her there indefinitely.
