Since nobody else has posted it (at least that I’m aware of), @lordtimeblogposts informed me of this variant cover for Amazing Spider-Man #10.

If you’re not aware, what’s depicted up top is Lorna from New X-Men #132. This is a huge deal for me, personally, in a good way, because it’s the first time in nearly 10 years that Marvel’s acknowledging what happened to Lorna on Genosha. To me, this part of Lorna’s history is essential to understanding and valuing Lorna as her own character. It’s the biggest trauma she’s ever had, and it led to some of her most defining and moving moments.

I decided to make Polaris in Soul Calibur 6, after I saw someone else’s version made by request and I felt I could make a version that would in my opinion match her more closely.

I chose Azwel for fighting style because I felt that fit Lorna more. Make multiple types of weapons out of thin air? Float and levitate? Aw yeah.

It’s obviously not an absolutely perfect version. The character creator is more limited than I remember Soul Calibur being in the past. I worked with what I had. Unfortunately, that also means some red and blue power uses couldn’t be changed. I changed it where I could.

Idea: Polaris and Frankenstein

Hey people. This is a thought.

As you know, this year is Polaris’ 50th anniversary. Something else I learned fairly recently is that it’s ALSO the 200th anniversary of Frankenstein!

So random idea: Polaris and Frankenstein stuff! Like right now I’m thinking of Lorna using her powers to bring Frankenstein’s monster to life. Out of character, sure, but random headcanons don’t need to always make sense. 😛

25 X-Men That Should Be Impossible To Cosplay (But Fans Somehow Still Pulled Off)

The only good thing about this article is the cosplayers themselves. The write-up for Lorna is trash. As shown below.

Polaris is yet another classic X-Men character, with mutant abilities
that are almost exactly the same as Magneto’s. This led to a storyline
where Magneto claimed to be her father, although it was later revealed
that this Magneto was just an android.

She may not be an entirely popular choice to cosplay, but Polaris is
probably going to become more popular due to her inclusion in the show The Gifted. We might end up seeing more cosplays like this one, done by CheekerCosplay (photograph by FirstPerson Shooter).

The article writer deliberately omits the fact that she’s been confirmed as Magneto’s daughter.

Thanks to @lordtimeblogposts for making me aware of the article.
