Wrong, Wrong, and Wrong

It does not state here or there or anywhere else that Abdullah Ahmed (yes that is his real name) did not personally know Leelah Alcorn. Meaning there is no way he could have possible had any hatred for Leelah for be transgender or coordinated with Leelah to kill herself.

Although a lot of the notes are calling the poster’s bluff, (while I was writing this, I checked on the posts and saw that the last user I used for picture deleted their original post), I’m still afraid with Tumblr’s policy of let-hate-this-person-with-no-proof-what-so-ever, users will still blame him on something he couldn’t have possibly controlled.

That driver will feel guilty for the rest of his life that he killed someone, and I can guarantee doxing him or sending him death threats will only make things worse. We don’t need another person to lose their life over this.

What the fuck is wrong with these people? If anything, send condolences to the driver. He was forcibly made to take the life of someone else, and is just as deserving of support as Leelah herself (and in more current need of it, probably).

Honestly, the driver is going to need so much support right now. My father is a transit worker and one of his good friends was driving a subway when someone jumped on the tracks. A very messy suicide. He, the driver, has had PTSD ever since. Can’t even enter a subway station. He was overcome with grief. We need to mourn Leelah of course but can we please not do this?! The driver is probably distraught, he didn’t know anything about her. She left an actual suicide note, he did not run her down, she jumped. Her family made her jump. Transmisogyny made her jump. This has nothing to do with this man.

Unless there’s actual, explicit proof that the driver 1) knew Leelah, her plan to commit suicide and her reasons for wanting to commit suicide, and 2) did it with malevolent intent, not under the mistaken idea it was a good thing, then blaming the driver for any of this is wrong. Wrong and unconscionable.

It’s turning an innocent man into a target to have his life ruined. If that alone doesn’t bring sense to anyone going after the driver, then this thought should: how would Leelah feel if you ruined an innocent man’s life in her name?

ok but like let’s look at this mathematically

let’s assume that “short” is less than half of the life expectancy of the average white male, which is about 75 years, so we’ll make a “short” life last for about 35 years

now, to keep this legal, we’ll assume that the short-lived gay man in question remained sexually abstinent until the age of 18. this leaves only 17 years for accumulation of sexual partners. that’s about 6205 days, give or take. in order or him to have 20,000 partners before he died, he’d need to have about 1176 partners per year, or just under 100 per month. that means that he would need to either need to have a foursome (himself + three men if that isn’t clear), a threesome and an individual encounter, or three individual encounters per day for every single day from his 18th birthday onward if he wanted to reach 20,000 by his death.

now, to put the impossibility of this into perspective, this politician claims 20,000 partners, not 20,000 instances of sexual activity, which demands that each partner be 100% new, no repeats. for reference, the estimated adult lgbt population in nebraska is just under 40,000, most likely not counting closeted individuals. assume that about half of this number is women and nonbinary individuals (all of whom are not interested in men), and the other half is men who are interested in men. the men are all allosexual and are all interested in our Short Lived Gay Male.

this means that our gay man has to fuck his way through the entire gay male population of nebraska, including time set aside for traveling, eating, and sleeping, over the course of 17 years. no job to speak of, no friends, no family, just nonstop fucking, three men a day every day, until he dies
