Final Fantasy is an extremely successful franchise, both critically and commercially, for revolutionizing the role-playing genre globally and presenting impactful and brilliant stories. The majority of Final Fantasy titles are standalone stories except a few which have spawned sequels. Although each Final Fantasy is based in its own universe, it still features similar and recurring elements such as plot themes, character names, monster names/types, and game mechanics.
