Finally finished my gypsy scarlet witch funko. It took awhile but she looks pretty sweet next to her sister Polaris. Working on rogue and medusa next, followed by teen Loki when I get the chance.
I didn’t know you finished the Polaris one. They look great! For some reason, it’s making me imagine them as plushies.
Which I would buy. Because plushies of them would be awesome.
And this is why I don’t really read comics anymore. Every time you turn around, some editor or writer has changed some backstory of the characters, so you spend years, decades even, thinking this one thing, only for them to tell you otherwise on a whim, then to change it back years later.
Disney and Marvel are doing it because they’re pissy about Fox owning the film rights to the X-Men franchise.
It’s understandable not to make them mutants or Magneto’s kids in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Fox owns the film rights and Disney and Marvel aren’t obligated to hash things out with Fox just to get Wanda and Pietro in there. It’s another thing when they force a retcon entirely because they’re dumb and greedy enough to think hurting the X-Men comics somehow hurts Fox in any way.
Most infamous retcons out there happened purely because some editor or writer wanted to do things differently, like what Quesada pulled with One More Day. This one’s because Disney and Marvel want more money, aren’t getting it, and decided ruining the comics is the way to go in response.
I find it strange how I don’t buy superhero comics anymore but still comment on them kinda like Alan moore lol
I don’t think it’s all that strange. We like the amazing potential of these characters and the worlds and concepts tied to them, but the companies that own them do not. It’s all about money to them. They’ll throw anything good under the bus if they (mistakenly) think it’ll net them a few more bucks somewhere down the line.
