At the suggestion of Wanda Maximoff, AKA Scarlet Witch, she and her (former?) half-sister Lorna Dane, AKA Polaris, spent some family bonding time together…with Danger…in All-New X-Factor #14. Together, they spent the day getting drunk, first at the Renaissance Festival! It was Wanda’s first turkey leg (which is almost always pork) and her first beer. I don’t want to read the Avengers and fact-check, but it’s probably right. Beer is so plebeian.
If Marvel discontinues X-Men, I am straight up boycotting. #NoXmenNoMarvel.
So basically, Marvel knew Wanda causing an end to mutants resulted in people hating Wanda, but they really want Wanda to be promoted in order to “stick it” to Fox, so they freed her of that in Avengers vs X-Men only because they intended to put the weight of ruining the X-Men franchise on the Inhumans franchise instead.
Time for thoughts. With pictures! Pictures of Spider-Man House of M #3! And this time I actually have a hard time limiting what pictures I use; I have 13 I’ve made.
I agree, but the 616 Lorna Dane is also a badass as we encountered in Magneto, All New X-factor, and of course, while she was in space as a Starjammers. Lorna 616 and Lorna SW HOM both are badassess to me. I think both Polaris are equally. How can we know if the one from SW HOM it’s not the one from 616? I wonder.
Your reply implies I don’t think 616 Lorna is a badass, when that’s not the case. 616 Lorna is an awesome badass, it’s why I love her so much, and she’s the reason I started caring about Marvel at all.
What I’m saying is that I’m worried Marvel might think 616 Lorna isn’t a badass.
In Secret Wars House of M, the rest of the family is depicted as blinded by rage, ignorance, pride, etc, unlike their 616 counterparts who are typically very reasoned, methodic, intelligent and crafty. SW HoM Lorna, though, is displaying all the things that make 616 Lorna so amazing. If you have three characters with fairly unflattering traits in an AU compared to their main versions, and one character with very flattering traits, it raises the question of if that means Marvel thinks the main version of her is full of unflattering traits.
I’m highlighting all this because a) I want to acknowledge the SW HoM version of the family are very different from their 616 versions, and b) I don’t want Marvel to write Lorna as the opposite of SW HoM Lorna when SW HoM Lorna is 616 Lorna in just about every way.
I’m loving SW HoM, I’m just fine with the rest of the family acting so different from the 616 since I know it’s an AU, but I don’t want that intent to translate to 616 Lorna not being written as the badass fans know her to be.
