I looked into source for this, and the artist doesn’t say anywhere that this is Polaris/Lorna Dane. She comes closer to saying it’s an original character.

The green star was a big tip-off, though the bow when Lorna’s never had one also contributed.

That said, Lorna with a green star tattoo on her face like this WOULD be pretty cool. And after multiple decades of it paired with her iconic costume, it or something like it would certainly help casual readers to identify her when she’s not waering some version of her iconic costume.

Inspired by Lorna Dane’s Shi’ar Polaris costume from  X-Men no. 97 (although my reference came from ‘Classic X-Men vol. 1, no. 5, 1987′). I saw it and thought, “it’s beautiful, it’s my color, I need to draw it”, and this is what happened. It might be worth noting that I’ve been watching too much Addams Family…
