As far as I see it, we haven’t lost anything. Marvel is only the rightsholder of the intellectual properties of these characters. If the family isn’t still a family, then the comic suggesting they’re not a family is invalid.
She is heading over to the Magneto title, but Marvel is known for torturing us X-men fans, so while, sure, she is still (for right now) his daughter, that hasn’t always been the case, and I don’t put it past Marvel to hurt Erik more by taking Lorna away from him too. 😦
I’m actually prepared for that eventuality. I expected it to happen much moreso than Wanda and Pietro getting retconned out of the family, because Brevoort’s previously tried to justify his opinion that Lorna shouldn’t be Magneto’s daughter. You can also see Brevoort’s opinions put into action with Lorna so excluded from Children’s Crusade that he had a portrait from House of M redrawn with Lorna removed, and Lorna’s family ties ignored in Avengers vs X-Men.
I’d obviously be outraged if Lorna got retconned out of being Magneto’s daughter again, but I can take a lot of comfort in knowing that it would be fixed in 10-20 years when people that have more appreciation and respect for her place in the family take over. My expectation is the more we’re denied Lorna interacting with her family today, the stronger the demand and the greater the platform for her in a couple decades.
I’m not really worried about any of this in the long-term. I trust no matter what people at Marvel think today, people at Marvel in the future will fix their mistakes. I’m more concerned with the short-term.

Hashtags are for organization. Do you message everyone who uses the tag system as a comment section?
