what you fail to realize is that video games shouldn’t cater to females in the first place. It’s largely known that it’s targeted towards the MALE demographic and has been for so many years, so why would they ask for something like that to be handed to them on a goddamn silver platter?

that’s like a guy walking into the women’s department of clothing at a sears and demanding that there be more clothing for men there. Separation of sections be damned.

that’s not how it fucking works

no not really

the game industry is more like walking into a regular department store and seeing that all the clothes are only men’s clothes

and when you ask the cashier where the women’s clothing section is, they wheel out a small rack of cheaply made tutus, g-strings, and high heels all in bright pink

and then when you go “wow really that’s it” you get called an uppity bitch and everybody assumes you want all the focus on you when in reality you’d just like to be considered a worthwhile demographic since you also like to wear clothes, it’s not like you want some ridiculous getup, you just want a solid shirt and pair of pants that fits you alright.

I mean hell you even sort of like men’s clothes and you have no problem wearing them. They suit you well. But it’s very obvious once you throw on a pair of men’s pants that they were not made for you.

^^^

Perfect metaphor is perfect.

The clothing metaphor doesn’t really work no matter what argument we’re talking about because video games aren’t clothing, they’re a medium. Mediums don’t have ingrained biases based on sex, they’re quite simply a way of delivering content.

I think a better analogy would be to say “video games are a male space” is about as stupid as someone saying women aren’t allowed to use wood as construction material because wood is for men only. You can make all sorts of things with wood that can appeal to all sorts of people, but then there’s some idiot that thinks wood has to be used only to make certain objects they like or else it’s an insult to all woodworkers.

This made my heart break even more

Honestly? I’m not the praying type, but my thoughts still go to all three of them. If Leelah’s parents eventually realize the huge mistake they made, their guilt might lead one or both of them to commit suicide. In general terms, every life matters, and they can still do a lot of good things. In specific terms, they could turn this tragedy into a cautionary tale to keep other parents from making the same mistakes they made.

There’s a difference between being a criminal and being scum

I don’t know what to think of this solely because I can imagine the possibility of the burglar being someone that planted the tapes there to frame the soccer coach.

I would need more information before I could make a proper judgment. Someone is guilty here, I just don’t know who.

Thoughts on the outrage because of the Wanda and Pietro retcon? And, do you think Magneto will be revealed to actually be their father?

I think that the amount of people who write me to complain about it as if I am the author is quite boggling.  not sure what that says the state of fan outrage.

I don’t mind taking my lumps but at bare minimum it has to be for things I actually wrote.

I had absolutely nothing to do with axis or its execution.

I got to say though, this makes me more curious about what happens in those Marvel retreats, when this stuff is worked out.

I mean, I know this is Remender’s baby, worked from threads that are all his own. But I had thought people like Bendis, Aaron, and Hickman all had their fingers in it, to one degree or another when considering the larger ramifications of this in the Marvel Universe, and fallout. I would not think it happened in a vacuum without their input.

I would love to one day get a behind the scenes telling of how this era or Marvel went down.

i knew about it, i heard about it, i was offered to tie in. but i had stories i was involved in and didn’t have the room. i knew black vortex and secret war were coming so i skipped this one.

some events are one writer’s baby. this was one. you’d be baffled how many think it’s mine. it just isn’t.

We are ready to blame you for all things shitting up Wanda’s life out of habit, sir.

I’ve been seeing a lot more of writers getting blamed for things that aren’t their fault lately.

I think it’s the climate created by Axis, ESPECIALLY the forced retcon just about nobody wanted. A lot of people are angry and don’t quite know how, or more importantly where, to express their anger. This means a lot of people are letting loose anywhere they think might work, even if it seems like a stretch.

I’m relatively sure this is going to get a hell of a lot worse before it gets better.

What people need to do is realize change will only happen if they stop feeding the monster and stop buying stuff tied to Disney and Marvel. It works every time. The only iffy part is if comic book fans can stick by their convictions like video game fans can.
