I’ve been playing a lot of ff4 recently, and it’s pretty neat. Not my favorite ff (we can’t all be 10), but a good one for sure!
HIGH EVOLUTIONARY: The fraternal twins. They masquerade as mutants.
SCIENTIST: Yes, yes. I remember the old games. I remember well. But I can assure you… I have detected no mutants here.
HIGH EVOLUTIONARY: A pity. And a curiosity.Uncanny Avengers Vol. 2 #2 by Rick Remender & Daniel Acuña
I guess Wanda and Pietro aren’t mutants now. Oh well.
So many questions: Wat? Why? Seriously? Did this really need to happen? Will Wanda ever get to do anything in this story that retcons her whole history?
They have Rogue and Sabertooth in the room, and the computer says it did a sweep of New Earth and “I have detected no mutants here”….so, what does that say about the “mutants” who came there with the Twins? Like, we all had a feeling they were doing something to the twins, we are waiting to see what. But the other mutants? Are they not mutants either now? was Wanda’s spell “No More Mutants” still active, and everyone was repowered by some other means?
Are there actually, really, no more mutants?
Perhaps Disney and Marvel are just that bold/asinine now that they’ve decided the entire mutant concept can be scrapped at the drop of a hat and replaced with Inhumans.
If that’s true, then it’s pretty ballsy, and stupid.
I thought the creepy old guy was just lying about it. But whether or not it’s the truth, if the computer detected no mutants on that planet even with Rogue and Creed around, that’s an excellent excuse for us to consider this entire plot a fake and choose the canon we’re adhering to now. Win-win =)
Pfft, you say that last part like I’m not already doing precisely that. 🙂
I’ve learned when it comes to stuff that involves Brevoort (and possibly Remender), they have about as much weight as fanfiction. Some good ideas, mostly bad ones, and it takes either films or other fanfic writers to hash them out and make use of the potential of the good ideas.
Exceptions, of course, include cases like Cullen Bunn with Magneto, or Lorna’s origin story and time bonding with her sister Wanda (among other moments) out of Peter David.
You know who really sucks at math?
People who think that biology explains why there aren’t more women in Computer Science

Magnetrix would have been just as good of a code name as Polaris.

Okay, my thoughts on Magnetrix.
I think Polaris is a better regular codename than Magnetrix, but I can’t deny that given it’s in the same form of words such as dominatrix, the first thing I think of when I see that name is “a woman that holds power and is in control.” We know a name isn’t where it starts and ends, though. You can have a female character treated poorly while given a name that sounds powerful.
More importantly, I think Magnetrix would work well for Lorna during a villainous or insane phase to denote a darker turn. Magnetrix wouldn’t be a good permanent name change, but it would be a good temporary name change for the sake of a storyline.
Lastly, I think despite how bad the name is, it does suggest something deeper to her personality and identity hidden under the surface if she once thought to use it.

a restaurant in my hometown got a review that said the servers should “show some skin” so the owner added a potato skin special to the menu and all the proceeds from the special go to the west virginia foundation for rape information services (x)
That’s exactly the appropriate response.
Hey there people!
So this was pointed out to me today, regarding recent developments with Marvel trying to forge ahead following the stupid work of retconning Wanda and Pietro out of the Magnus family.

I have no idea who this is, but it would appear this is a new sister for Wanda and Pietro.
Do you know what this means?
It means I want some fanart of Lorna, Wanda, Pietro and this new woman doing stuff together. 🙂
If nobody does it then I might try to commission some, but at the moment I’m putting that money toward more serious issues, so I’d rather not. I honestly don’t know anything about this new woman, if there even is anything to know about her yet, but I quite like the idea of Lorna spending time with Wanda and Wanda’s other sister. Perhaps when all’s said and done, this new woman will even be a second sister for Lorna.
