so today i was on facebook when i saw one of my family members shared a link with a naked girl and her comment “lol” so naturally i thought something funny must have happened with some naked girl or something, but i could not have been more wrong. this post is disgusting and i can’t believe my family posted this. actually scratch that, i can believe it which is even worse.
anyway, I don’t even think I need to show you guys the tons of other comments saying what a good idea this is and how funny it is. this post has about 100,000 shares at the moment. you guys should all report the guy who made this post.
This is so fucking wrong not even remotely funny
This offends two populations: claiming all Muslim people are terrorists, and this objectifies women. What the hell is wrong with some people
Where the fuck do these Islamaphobic teats pull this info from? Their fucking minds? Doubt that because they’d need a brain.
Yeah, the original concept shown in the picture is stupid on every conceivable level. It’s got a blend Islamophobia fueled by what have to be bullshit assumptions about Islam (Commit suicide for seeing any woman other than his wife naked? Really? Makes as much sense as saying Christians murder their firstborns to prove they love God), sexism, and toxic bro culture. Some of it is absolutely a thinly veiled “Man, I know society says we can’t share pictures of naked women publicly under normal circumstances, so here’s a bullshit excuse to do so.”

Here’s what I don’t get about Marvel. Or most big companies working on creative IPs, really. I wasn’t planning on writing a Tumblr post like this, but I feel the need to write it, so I am.
Fiction is amazing. People pay money to these companies to follow along with an emotional investment in something that holds often very personal importance. These are characters that mean the world to some people. Children idolize heroes as something to look up to and aspire toward. Some fans look to characters they love for introspection and support, they see a part of themselves in the character or something they can improve about themselves through perspectives given through that character.
Fiction isn’t just about getting a cheap thrill. It never has been, and it never will be. Even the people that say that’s all it is know deep down that they’re wrong, because otherwise why would they care enough about fiction to adamantly and repeatedly make such proclamations? We’re a species that has told stories since before history, starting with creation myths and building into hero myths.
These stories matter, and we see it every day. Every person that writes a piece of fanfiction, draws a piece of fanart, creates and dresses up in cosplay, you name it, they do it because those things matter to them in some way. The characters they gravitate toward have at least SOME kind of worth and value. Sometimes fans accept things they shouldn’t just because rejecting those things also, in their minds, means rejecting the parts they care about, but that doesn’t change that they love what they love for a reason.
With all of that in mind… I don’t understand how any company that works in creative IPs can blow off everything their fans care about so easily. I don’t see how anyone working at any of these companies can in good conscience decide that if they personally don’t like a character, or they don’t like that they can’t make more money with that character, then it’s okay to treat them and everything tied to them poorly.
Even if a person or group focused on a particular character or franchise is attacking them, I don’t see how anyone can see that as a free pass to treat what those people care about poorly. If a Batman fan tries to ruin my life, that does not mean all Batman fans should be attacked to get back at that one lone fan. When you do that, you’re not just attacking the one fan, you’re attacking all fans. It’s the equivalent of dealing with a gunman by launching a WMD.
This applies to so many things. It applies to fans that go after specific creators, it applies to companies going after other companies, it can even apply to fans going after other fans.
And this is why I don’t understand how Marvel can behave the way it does with certain characters and franchises. Why be involved in companies like Marvel at all if there’s no desire to do right by the very fiction that inspires millions of people?
In closing, I want to state the obvious: that this does not apply to everyone working at a company, including Marvel. It may not even apply to the majority. It may only apply to one or two people. But even one instance of such behavior is deplorable, and it’s even worse if it’s someone in a higher position of power. That one person can ruin it for every single person below them that cares about the fiction.
They even said this. It’s fucking canon. They ARE brother and sister no matter what.
It’s also canon that Lorna and Pietro are brother and sister because Marvel only forced the idiotic retcon because they’re being pissy about Fox owning the X-Men film rights. It has nothing to do with story. It’s all about ego and greed.
Under such circumstances, I think it’s fair to say it doesn’t matter that Marvel owns the legal copyright to the characters. The change they propose is entirely invalid and should be treated as such. They are still brother and sister, just as Lorna and Wanda are still sisters, Magneto and Pietro are still father and son, etc.
if someone explains to you that they find a fictional ship triggering and asks you to tag it it’s not your job to start going on about how it’s your otp and they can’t possibly find it triggering your job is to say “oh okay I understand” and tag it or accept that theyre going to unfollow you they don’t owe you an explanation

BlackOUT Collective’s Powerful Statement Honoring Black Girls and Black Women’s Bodies and Lives
We have so many of these demonstrations taking place all over the country. They’re not even weekly occurrences anymore, they’re daily. This is becoming the new normal.
How can anyone not recognize and acknowledge there is something deeply dysfunctional about the way our society is currently operating when we have such major demonstrations taking place daily? It’s not like people are doing this for kicks. Some may be, but most would surely much rather live in a world where things are functioning well enough for them to simply go to work, take classes, spend time with their kids if they have kids, enjoy some good hobbies like writing or drawing or maybe exercise, enjoy films or TV.
The fact so many feel this takes greater priority for the future of our society and their own lives than any of that alone is proof things are bad and need to improve.
