This is something I also could only give details via Marvel wikia. Page for Shi’ar on there says Shi’ar first appeared in X-Men #97 in 1976, and Brood was Uncanny X-Men #155 in 1982. Pretty much it’s better to look at the Marvel wikia yourself on this cause it has more details. 🙂

Honestly, only what’s on the Marvel wikia and what people have said. In the comics, she was a minor character. Even the name Sonya is something Gifted made up for her.

Though it does stand out to me that both creators of her were women. Louise Simonson as writer, June Brigman as artist.

You probably haven’t seen my posts saying this, but I don’t watch Gifted anymore and don’t really want to hear or talk about it unless it involves Dreamer, or having to counter the show doing something bad that could hurt perception of Polaris as a whole. Sometimes I’ll bring it up because support for live action Lorna tells Marvel they should treat Lorna better in the comics and use her more in stuff like video games and cartoons (or hell, bring a new version of her to the MCU), but that’s about it.

That said, to answer the question, either Dreamer or Sonya. After how horrendously the show treated Dreamer leading up to her death, during her death and after her death, naming a child after her is the bare minimum they could do.
