in the 1990s, Marvel published a series of “Swimsuit Specials” which were exactly what you’d expect them to be: pinups of your favorite Marvel characters enjoying themselves under the sun in minimal clothing. If you google them, you’ll find a lot of those sexy and strange artworks. This commission was an homage to those, featuring the daughters of Magneto, Wanda Maximoff, The Scarlet Witch, and Lorna Dane, aka Polaris.
This was a really fun, and though their bathing suits are pretty much what they normally wear, it was fun to put such fantastic characters in rather ordinary settings and situations. They’re done in pen and color pencil.
