Surprisingly breaking from my low expectations of them, Marvel actually announced an X-Men Legends figure of Polaris today.
I’m pleased by this news, and of course Marvel deserves thanks for finally doing it, but there’s a part of me that doesn’t want to say it because of how long it took for Marvel to do it. The X-Men Legends line has been going on for a LONG time, which you can see here. For this specific line, this is the first time Polaris has ever been released. Meanwhile, Havok got TWO figures (May 2006, and August this year), and there was a prototype for a “Modern Havok” at SDCC 2009.
So, I want to give credit where credit’s due, but I feel like proper credit means simultaneously being thankful it’s happening while still being annoyed it took so damn long for her to get even one.

To further celebrate the 25th anniversary of FFIV’s release, here’s the next of the final party: Rosa, the White Mage!

Imagine the FF4 crew playing Pokemon go!ser buzzkill is here. at least he’s not sharing pass-agg memes about it on facebook. also he’ll be sold the moment he sees a dratini.
It’s funny cause it may as well be canon.

One word: wasted. Defiantly one of the best, most creative, coolest, best looking designs the character ever had! So, you might be asking yourself, “But why don’t we heard more about those?” “ We don’t see cosplays of him in those suits do often” , and “Those are not as far as other the ones we associate the mostwith the Cajun.” I mean, Archengel’s Hotseman is better known the his default ones, Wolverine, Storm, Polaris, so far… All of them we see everywhere their Horseman/Evil/AoA formd, why this one doesn’t stand out? Simple reason: the storylines he was in those suitd were all (for their most parts) at least “weakly written”. I’m not kidding, none of them, at least in the particular arcs he was in, is minimally good. I mean, man I regret reading single one.
But how about the one in the game? I got a ton of problems withon this version. First of all, it’s too simplistic. Could be far better made. Second, don’t get me wrong, but the “Super-Sayan hair” looks a bit odd and off character. Besides, unlike other alternated character’s skins, this one doesn’t add much in terms of skills/powers/gadgets. Really WTF? It’s just Gambit in GREYFACE!
Spesking of Grey people impersonation, yeah it look a little “silly” for most people. For me, however, it somehow makes him ever better. I personally didn’t like his white hair flat over his head, I rather prefere the fanart version, with a big, puffy, rock-n-roll style silvery white/light grey insteaf, as I saw some people doing on DA or Tumblr.
And his eyes, in canonic issues, look either fully “orangy red” or fully white, like Storm using her powers, which I don’t get, since for me it doesn’t make them aestetically apealing, his “normal-self” ruby red eyes on black sclera are great already, and they look even better on this, like I saw a few artists drawing. It gaves him a legitm “Tokyo Ghoul” hint.
But it could be worse. He could look acidentally like a genderbender version of a hyper-sexualized character from a great comic-book, adapted into a terrible animated featured film…Wait!Fair use: for propose of review, critique, parody, education, non-profitible uses.
Character belongs to Marvel Comics.
Actually, we don’t see Polaris’ Horseman/Evil/AoA forms much.
The only other time her Pestilence look came up again was for a single page of All-New X-Factor, where it was reimagined (very well IMO). Gambit’s look as a Horseman was on that same page. The look Polaris had when Malice possessed her hasn’t been shown again since it was used in the 80s. If we consider the Austen era Polaris to be “evil” (I don’t, but I can see other people feeling that way), that costume also hasn’t been used since Austen was writing her.
I vastly prefer Lorna’s iconic costume, because it’s one of few ways she can stand out consistently in an atmosphere where Marvel’s refusing to use her full potential, but I felt I should point these things out.

San Diego Comic Con is open! Find me at booth 5602 for a pic with Polaris! #sdcc #cosplay #marvel #xmen #sdcccosplay #cosplayer (at Comicon, San Diego Convention Center)
Are your eyebrows colored/dyed? If so, that’s even more awesome!
