@peppermonster is the last two of these, and she’s still awesome.

I am extremely impressed by the dedication it takes to dye your eyebrows green.

One of many reasons she’s awesome. 🙂 I’ve never cosplayed, probably never will, but I know it takes a ton of creativity to think of a costume and its real life version, work to make it, and confidence to wear it.

These are my top 3 Lorna Dane fancasts (in no particular order)

  1. Carly Chaikin; I absolutely love her in Mr. Robot. and the thing about Lorna is that, if she were played onscreen, I don’t think she should be a generic “dark action” girl type. I think she should have an edge one way or another; Carly has that kind of brash, almost… unrefined? edge
  2. Dianna Agron; on the other hand, I think Dianna has a kind of faux-gentleness that would also be really interesting to watch. She has a more delicate voice, and I think she would be really good at being cool and precise when it came time for Lorna to use her powers like the badass she is.
  3. Kat Denninga; I know she’s kind of an unexpected choice, and I don’t know if she does drama very often, but I think she would definitely be interesting. Lorna with a sarcastic edge that falls away when she talks to her family, or that makes people do a double take when they realize holy shit she’s actually powerful, would be really cool.

I think I like Daisy Ridley the most after she was suggested, but Carly Chaikin still seems like a really good fit too.

I’m also terrible at the fancast deal. In a theoretical situation, if I were to cast Polaris for real, I’d probably pick someone nobody’s seen before. Actors and actresses eventually develop a style that carries with them into any role they take. Not the same thing as typecasting; actors can definitely move across genres with their styles. But it’s a risk of if the actress will be more her style than Lorna.
