I was actually really pissed when I played the Third Birthday. Aya was my role-model, and seeing her reduced to a pandering submissive made me physically ill.
Not to mention to see her turn into a living breating definition of fanservice. Yeah her clothes get torn up to basically nothing was there for ‘realism’ ok.
How thoroughly and insultingly Squeenix ruined Aya Brea with 3rd Birthday is THE reason I absolutely refuse to buy or play anything tied to Squeenix, and have stuck to that since 3rd Birthday’s release.
The only time I’ve come close to breaking that rule was for FF15… before Tabata took over and slowly ruined the potential of that. Squeenix needs to make a Parasite Eve 3 that makes 3rd Birthday not canon. I don’t mean retcon 3rd Birthday out of existence, I mean make it absolutely clear that 3rd Birthday never happened and never will.
