I have a really fun fic idea for X-Men. It’s exactly the kind of idea that Marvel could never pursue: NSFW, and with a base concept that works fine for fanfic, but would be way too absurd and stupid for official work. The idea isn’t fluffy and happy, but I also at least currently do not plan for it to have noncon elements.
I don’t want to give away what it is unless I completely, utterly fail to do anything with the idea within a month or two… which to be honest, there’s a good chance of that outcome. Lately, I’ve had no trouble starting fics, but plenty of trouble getting myself to finish them. If I do absolutely nothing for this fic within 1-2 months, I’ll give away what the idea is. Maybe here, maybe on my NSFW blog.
What I CAN say right now is this: the fic idea primarily stars four women, though I may be willing to make one of them into a guy if he really fits. Polaris, Rogue and Scarlet Witch are definites. I already know what roles Rogue and Wanda will play. I need to determine the last woman to include, and which of two remaining roles Lorna and the other woman will take.
I’m open to a) suggestions for the last woman, and b) material that will help me better understand Rogue and Wanda. Material showing how Rogue talks, how Wanda feels about her kids, and how they each feel about their powers, would help.
I know it may be difficult to really offer much in any of these respects without details on what I’m thinking, but if I go through with it, I’d rather let it be a surprise. 🙂
What kind of roles are you looking for? I can throw out some names of ladies it would be cool to see them interacting with, but if there was a bit more in terms of tone/personality it would be more helpful.
Wanda interacts with Billy and Teddy in some of the later arcs of the original Young Avengers run, that might be good for inspiration.
I haven’t been able to read much of the current run, but in one of the first few issues Billy is in Trouble and is like “let’s go find Wanda” and someone says “you call your mom Wanda?” and he replies “well what else am I supposed to call her? The Scarlet Mom?”
so that’s pretty cool lol. she must be a bit of a chill mom.
This is a public! update. warriorgays and I talked privately, but I want to say thanks for the help and tips here too. I’ve already thought of some new elements for Wanda based on this info.
Now to the update part!
I have the four female characters picked out now, with the last one being Amelia Voght. A couple more high-profile characters came close, but I have a very specific theme in mind, and Amelia’s the best and (at least to me) most intriguing fit.
I’ve also figured out all their roles. There are still some minor details not fully ironed out, but I have enough that I can start writing. It’s entirely possible the details will fix themselves in the process of writing, which has happened to me before.
