How come people have this belief that magneto and his children are all incredibly dark?
It’s not like a book where there is a lot of ambiguity. It’s a comic book, with art, where you can see that magneto is white, along with his children. Or at the very least, white passing. If they’re drawn a certain way it’s how they’re meant to look and you just can’t like pretend they’re something they’re not. Like that picture of magneto’s family tree and they’re all incredibly dark skinned and someone tagged it “MAGNETO AND HIS FAMILY AIN’T WHITE Y’ALL” like… Have you ever read a comic book with magneto or his children in it before?
It’s one thing to do a racebend but people actually 100% believe that is what the characters should look like, despite all evidence suggesting otherwise, including the actual characters and their actual appearances.
Just some food for thought.
Erik is a white passing ashkenazi Jew from Germany. And unlike Wanda and Pietro he’s been drawn very consistently.
Wanda has always been drawn pretty pale, not as pale as pietro, but still never drawn as dark as people seem to think she is
I’d say she’s been drawn a bit more tan, but certainly not as dark as people think.
I mean I don’t care that people draw them that way it’s just they act like its canon and I guess that’s what irks me about it
Honestly, it doesn’t really concern me all that much since my focus is on who the characters are history and personality wise. I’m not saying this post means you care about those things less, only that whether a fan sees them as white passing, black, etc is one of those things I don’t put much thought into. The one caveat IMO is that since they’re Jewish, they should remain Jewish, no matter the fan interpretation.
